How To: Loose Waves
Hey everyone!
I'm going to do my first hair tutorial on my blog! I love the way this looks and I was inspired to make these by Scarlett Johanson's Oscar hair. It looked a little fried, but I thought that it would look really good on longer hair!
1. To start off, spray your hair with heat protectant. It's very important to do this at the beginning of any hair style that involves using heat. I'm using CHI 44 Iron Guard all over my hair then brushing it through.
CHI 44 Iron Guard ($14.00)
2. Next take a clampless curling iron, and wrap medium-large sections of hair around the barrel and hold for a couple of seconds. Do this to your entire head and make sure your curl away from your face.

3. Take a flexible hold hairspray and spray it all over. Now you are finished!

New Cremeblend Blushes at MAC?!?!
Hey guys!
I'm sure you all have heard of the cremeblend blushes at MAC. They're MAC's creme blushes. about 1 month ago, they were being discontinued so I went and got ladyblush, their most popular creme blush. Today, I went online and saw that they were back! They now also come in pro palette form. The colors look a bit different though... If any of you have tried them, tell me if the formulation is different!

Review: Bella Bamba!
Hey everyone!
"The triple dimension of pink... brightening, sculpting and defining. Sweep on the apples of your cheeks and dot at the hairline for a total thrill of dimensional color. WOW!"
Bella Bamba vs. Coralista:
When I first saw this blush, I was hesitant to get it because it looks at lot like Coralista, another boxed powder from Benefit. This blush is a lot pinker than Coralista and has a lot more shimmer.
Color: [15/15]
I'm not sure why this is considered a 3D pink, and I don't get a trill of dimensional color, but I love this blush! It's a bright, watermelon pink with gold sparkles. It's super pigmented so be careful when applying this to your cheeks. I think that it would look great on a variety of skin tones, especially medium - dark skin tones.
Application: [9/10]
I apply to the apples of my cheeks using a MAC #128 brush and blend upward to my temples for a beautiful, pink glow, but you don't have to use that exact brush, any fluffy brush will do! The only problem is that it's extremely pigmented, so you could end up looking like a clown if you use too much!
Packaging: [5/5]
If you haven't already noticed, the packaging is different than the other boxed powders. It now has a flip top and a mirror inside, which I like so much better than the other boxed powders that have a top that comes completely off. The brush that comes from it is also different. The top is rounder and a lot denser than the others.
Value: [9/10]
This blush is $28.00 for .28 oz, which is about $1.00 for every .01 ounces. It's a high price to pay, but I think it's worth it because these last FOREVER!
Overall [38/40]
Grade: A

Tip-Of-The-Week:
Apply eyeshadow primer underneath your concealer to keep it in place all day! I recommend using Urban Decay's eyeshadow primer potion. Don't use too much or else your concealer will crease!

January Favorites!
Hey everyone!
Here are my favorite beauty products for the month of January:
Laura Mercier Oil-Free Tinted Moisturizer
I love this! It evens out my skin tone and doesn't dry my skin out, although since I have severely dry skin by the end of the day I have flakes on my face.
Urban Decay Alice In Wonderland Palette
I've rekindled my love with this palette! I haven't used it in a while and I pulled it out at the beginning of the month and started using it again! You can't get this exact palette anymore, but Urban Decay has a ton of palettes to choose from. None of the colors inside were limited edition.
Maybelline Eye Studio Gel Eyeliner
Best. Gel. Eyeliner. Ever. It's super black and really cheap. I love it!

Tip: To make foundation that is a little too dark for you lighter, dab a little foundation on your hand, then squeeze a pea-size dot of SPF 30 on top and mix until the sunscreen and foundation blend completely. Once it is blended, it will be lightened a shade or two. This tip is great for foundation that you use in the summer!

Powder Blush 101
Hey everyone!
Most people know what blush is, but some stay away because they don't want to end up looking like a clown. Well I'm going to tell you some tips and tricks to help you learn to use blush the RIGHT way.
Rule #1: If you're new to blush, stay away from any bright colors: hot pink, red, orange, etc. You don't want to end up looking like a clown. I recommend light pinks and peaches.
Rule #2: Don't get too much blush on the brush. You can always add more, but it's hard to take away blush once it's on your face.
Rule #3: I recommend using a small, fluffy brush when putting on blush, that way you can put it exactly where you want it.
MAC #129 ($34.00)
http://www.maccosmetics.com
Rule #4: Apply blush on the apples of your cheeks and blend outward.
Rule #5: Always have a clean brush nearby to blend out the blush.
Tip Alert!!! If you use too much blush, you can apply foundation over it to cover up the blush, but don't do that more than once or else it will get cakey.
My Favorite Blushes for Beginners:
Benefit Dandelion Boxed Powder ($28.00)
This adds a sheer pinky glow to your face, I recommend it for light to medium skin tones.
http://www.sephora.com/browse/product.jhtml?id=P38347&categoryId=B70
MAC Mineralize Blush in Gleeful ($21.00) A cool-tone pink with gold pearl that looks good on medium-dark skin tones.

How To: Cover A Blemish Like A Pro!
Hey everyone!
I know we all have those days where are face is breaking out, so here are my tips on how to cover those unattractive zits!
Step One: Green Concealer
Before you apply your foundation, put a green concealer on any zits on your face, but don't blend it. The green will counteract the red from the zits. I recommend using a MAC #194 concealer brush to do this, but you can use your fingers, just make sure that they are clean! My favorite green concealer is Coastal Scents Color Corrector Concealer Quad, which is only $7.95.
Step 2: Apply Your Foundation
Now apply your foundation as you normally would.
Step 3: Apply Skin Color Concealer
Now taking a stick concealer, apply it over the pimples and blend using your fingers. The natural warmth from your fingers should help melt the concealer into your skin, again, just make sure that they are clean! My favorite is the NARS Concealer ($22.00) or the Bobbi Brown Face Touch Up Stick ($22.00).
http://www.sephora.com/browse/product.jhtml?id=P2858&shouldPaginate=true&categoryId=3976
http://www.sephora.com/browse/product.jhtml?id=P270599&categoryId=B70
Step 4: Apply Under Eye Concealer
Apply your favorite under eye concealer under your eyes.
Step 5: Apply a Setting Powder
To Lock all of the cream products in place that you have just used, apply a powder over. If you have very light skin, I recommend a translucent powder. If you have any other shade of skin, I would recommend a pressed powder that is your skin color. If you want even more coverage, you can apply a powder foundation over all of this.
Translucent Powder: Bare Essentials Mineral Veil ($19.00)

Pressed Powder: MAC Mineralize Skinfinish Natural ($26.00)

Mini-Haul: New Drugstore Lipsticks!
Hey everyone!
I recently picked up some new lipsticks from the drugstore that I love! I think I have a new favorite beige-y nude and medium pink. They are:
Maybelline Lipstick in "Warm Me Up"
This beautiful medium pink is actually the color of my lips, only darker. It would look good on a variety of skin tones and reminds me of NARS "Dolce Vita"Lipstick, only it's about a third of the price. This lipstick retails for $7.99.
